Keep Xero records up to date
Because Lightyear and Xero are both cloud solutions, our connection makes it easy to keep both accounts up to date. Changes made in Xero, such as renaming suppliers or updating GL codes, do not break the linkage in Lightyear because the system relies on underlying identifiers rather than names.
We've created a button under each component: GL Codes, Suppliers, Tax rates, Categories, to allow you to Import from Xero any time you want.
So for example, if you've created new supplier cards or contacts in Xero, you only need to click Import Suppliers to bring them all across rather than recreating new records in Lightyear. Conversely, if you've created a new supplier in Lightyear, this will automatically create a new one in Xero upon export. See below:
Keep Suppliers up to date
Accountancy > Xero Suppliers > Edit > Import Suppliers.

Keep GL Codes up to date
Accountancy> Chart of Account Codes >Edit > Import from Xero.
If you update the names of GL codes in Xero, the linkage with Lightyear remains intact. However, to see the updated names in Lightyear, you need to re-import the Chart of Accounts from Xero.

Keep Tax Rates up to date
Accountancy> Tax Rates > Edit > Import from Xero

Keep Categories up to date
Accountancy> Tracking Categories > Edit > Import from Xero.
