Once you go through the process of using Edit Mode and clicking Save to Supplier within the Preview Data screen, this information is stored against your selected Supplier to be used the next time the same document type is received.

Edit Mode Rules

To find these rules, go to your Supplier List, click the green pencil icon to Edit.

Along the top of the Supplier page, click into Extraction Rules > Edit Mode Rules.

Here you will see all the extraction changes you've made within Edit Mode, split into types of results in the Type column:

  • Label/Value

  • Words

  • Tables

Regardless of the Type of extraction change you've made, the Label column will hold the name of the Lightyear field you have changed, e.g., Bill #, Sort/BSB/Routing, Line Item Quantity, etc.

The Value column will change depending on what Type has been selected

  • Label/Value - the Value column shows the Label of the field you have extracted, e.g., if you have selected Bill Number: this will be populated here

  • Words - the Value column will be blank as we are looking only at the coordinates/location, there is no label or column related to what's been extracted through Words

  • Tables - the Value column shows the name of the Column Header from the original document

Deleting Rules

If you no longer want to extract a specific piece of information from a document, you can delete it within Edit Mode itself, or through the Edit Mode Rules page.

Find the rule you don't want to use anymore, and click the Delete icon at the end of the row.

What's Next?

That's the tutorial finished! I have added one additional article that contains FAQs for some common issues that may come up when you get to use Edit Mode. That can be found here.
