Transfer ownership of a Lightyear account
If your account is set up in a Parent/Child arrangement, where a client account is linked under yours and uses your credits, you can transfer or unlink that account by contacting the Lightyear support team.
To request a transfer or unlink, email [email protected] with the following information:
Include the parent account's Lightyear email address, for example '[email protected]'.
Include the child account's Lightyear email address.
Copy in the account owner, business owner, or bookkeeper and ask them to Reply All to confirm they agree to the change. Acknowledgement from all parties is required.
Confirm the business or account owner is set as an Admin User on the account being unlinked.
Turn on support access for the account: Go to Company Settings, then select the 'Allow Lightyear Support' checkbox.
Once all parties have confirmed, the Lightyear support team will unlink the account and send the client the next steps, such as purchasing credits and managing users.
š Note: If the account needs to move to a new Parent/Child setup, include the new parent account or accountant in the email.
If you need to transfer ownership to another accountant or bookkeeper, follow the same process and include the new accountant in the email thread.
Delete your Lightyear account
You can close your Lightyear account and request deletion of your data by contacting the Lightyear support team at [email protected].
When you get in touch, include your Lightyear account email address, for example '[email protected]'.
Warning: Once your account is deleted, you will no longer be able to access your data. Make sure you have saved all relevant data elsewhere before requesting deletion.
